Panel Discussions, Artist Talks & Workshops

Please contact me if you would like me to speak on a panel, give an artist talk or facilitate a workshop.

Speaking, educating and sharing my work is a crucial part of my art practice. Ten years ago I facilitated a  workshop called Art and Activism with Masters in Social Work students at Hunter College School of Social Work. Since then I have worked as a teaching artist with high school and middle school students. I have given artist talks at the Cue Foundation, SUNY Purchase, BMCC, Rush Gallery and El Museo del Barrio.

I have spoken on panels at SOHO20 Chelsea, El Museo del Barrio and CPR. In 2011, The Feminist Tea Party invited me to give a talk at NYFA Gallery about pop music and feminism. In 2011 I was also invited to speak to MFA students at Pratt about navigating the art world as a recent MFA graduate.

I have facilitated self-esteem and goal-setting workshops for young people, most recently through a collage and poetry workshop for small children at Guyana Cultural Association’s Summer Camp in 2013. In 2009 as a resident artist through the Chemung River School Project, I spent a week teaching fourth graders environmental activism through video art.

As part of my artist residency with Fresh Milk in Barbados and Groundation Grenada in 2013, I presented my work at Barbados Community College and taught a performance art workshop in Grenada. In 2014 I taught a performance art workshop at Syracuse University’s 601 Tully, and gave a talk about Art and Healing to a medical ethics class at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.
